About This Role
The administrative intern for a school serves as a vital member of the school's leadership team, responsible for supporting a safe, supportive, and enriching environment conducive to the academic and socio-emotional development of FPS learners. This role involves collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student needs, promote positive behavior, and foster a culture of inclusivity and respect within the school community.
This role is designed to be a one year role. It is open to internal candidates. If selected as an Administrative Intern, you will be guaranteed at least one interview for an administrative job in the future. After your year of internship, you will return to the classroom in a similar position, if you have not obtained a position as an administrator at the end of the internship.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Student Behavior Management:** Work with the current administrators to implement and enforce disciplinary policies and procedures in alignment with the school's code of conduct.
- **Student Support Services:** Coordinate and oversee support services for students with behavioral, social, or emotional needs.
- **Parent and Family Engagement:** Cultivate positive relationships with parents and families to support student success.
- **Student Leadership Development:** Facilitate opportunities for student leadership and character development.
- **School Climate and Culture:** Foster a positive school climate characterized by mutual respect, inclusivity, and empathy.
- **Crisis Intervention and Support:** Provide support and guidance during crises or emergencies affecting students.
- **Professional Development:** Provide training and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff on topics related to student behavior management.
- **Data Analysis and Reporting:** Collect and analyze data related to student behavior, attendance, and disciplinary incidents.
- **Collaboration with Community Partners:** Collaborate with community organizations for resources and support services for students and families.
