The 5-8 Academic Literacy Coach will lead building efforts to increase literacy achievement for all student populations and facilitate the transition to and the implementation of the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts. Responsibilities include assisting teachers with implementation, demonstrating exemplary literacy instruction, planning and conducting literacy team meetings, analyzing assessment data, and making recommendations regarding instructional materials. Candidates should have teacher certification in elementary education, five years recent experience teaching reading, and strong interpersonal skills.
