Position Summary
The Associate Director of Production is responsible for assisting the Senior Director of Production in leading and directing the U.S. Hatchery team. This role supports the delivery of high-quality products to global customers, achievement of financial and business objectives, and the development and maintenance of effective communication with customers and shared service partners.
Key focus areas include biosecurity and animal welfare objectives; developing and maintaining a qualified, effective team across all positions; fostering a strong culture of safety in all facilities; and ensuring genetic security and integrity.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent work experience.
- Requires broad knowledge in a general professional field typically acquired through four (4) years of college.
Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of hatchery and poultry-related management experience preferred.
Computer Skills
- Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals using standard computer programs.
- Proficiency in using internal data systems to analyze information and drive sound business decisions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages seven (7) direct salaried reports.
Travel
- Regular domestic travel required to seven (7) hatcheries across six (6) states.
Physical Requirements
- Must use safe lifting techniques.
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk; and hear.
- The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- When visiting facilities, adherence to all required safety procedures is expected, including wearing all required personal protective equipment.
Biosecurity and Animal Welfare
- When visiting biosecure job sites, showering prior to entering facilities is required.
- Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company.
- No jewelry may be worn on job sites, except for medical identification jewelry.
- Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with any avian species (including chickens, ducks, and other birds).
- The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.
