Criminal Background Verification Specialist

Job Title: Criminal Background Verification Specialist Department: Administration, Facilities & Secretarial Country: United States of America State/Province: Arkansas City: Lowell Full/Part Time: Full time Job Summary: Under routine supervision, the position is responsible for ensuring that background screens meet the requirements of J.B. Hunt’s Criminal Screening Matrix. Review, evaluate and approve the criminal records and history for job applicants and other temp labor. Maintain accurate records and reports to effectively track productivity in assigned tasks.   Job Description: Key Responsibilities: - Conduct criminal background review for job applicants and other temp labor. - Monitor and review delayed contact applications and remove applicants from the rosters as needed. - Compile background screening tracking status reports (daily/weekly). - Communicate and partner with external and internal department personnel to facilitate contractor approval . - Initiate rejections for contractors that don’t meet the J.B. Hunt Criminal Matrix requirements. - Review criminal background monitoring and document investigation history of those that fail review for the Safety and Litigation departments. Qualifications: Minimum Qualification: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 1-3 years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualification: - Bachelors degree in Business Administration/Management or a related field - Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively - Ability to multi-task - Customer-oriented - Experience working in a fast-paced environment - Experience working in a team and tracking toward metrics/goals - Proficient time management skills - Self-motivation Knowledge of background checks or pre-employment screenings. Compensation: Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
