**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Repair and rebuild vehicle components, electrical systems, brake systems, gasoline and diesel engines, and manual and automatic transmissions.
- Analyze and diagnose mechanical problems and malfunctions on all types of engines, transmissions, drive trains, and track systems.
- Troubleshoot repair problems using various test equipment including volt meters and computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Road test and inspect units to identify needed repairs and perform inspections of completed work.
- Instruct less experienced technicians and assist in training new employees on vehicle maintenance.
- Perform welding, fabrication operations, and installation of specialized vocational equipment.
- Keep records of repairs and manage parts requests with the Fleet Warehouse.
- Must be available for on-call status to provide customer service during emergency situations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
