About This Role
Fayetteville High School is seeking a creative, collaborative, and technically skilled theatre educator for a high school theatre position. The ideal candidate will foster students’ exploration of theatre through technical theatre pathways, with a strong emphasis on scenic construction, lighting design, and sound production. This educator will support students from beginning to advanced levels in a positive, organized, and enthusiastic environment. This position involves coordinating with a team of theatre and fine arts educators to provide meaningful opportunities for creative expression while supporting the continued growth of the FHS Theatre Program. The role comes with an expectation of integrating high-quality technical theatre elements into all performances. This role will work closely with the FHS Performing Arts Center Manager to coordinate production needs, calendars, and facility usage. Instruction includes teaching beginning through advanced technical theatre courses aligned with the Arkansas Department of Education Drama Standards. Primary Teaching Responsibilities include: Daily instruction in Technical Theatre I, II, III, and IV, supervision of grade-level advisory classes, and additional duties including construction and creation of design elements for productions, supervising and mentoring students, and managing theatre facilities. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, a valid Arkansas teaching license in Theatre, and strong knowledge of theatre history and production techniques. A full-time position aligned with the Fayetteville Public Schools and Fayetteville High School academic calendar, with extended contract and after school commitments as needed.
