Lifeguard/Swim Instructor (Temporary/Part Time)

Essential Job Duties: 1. Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of his or her own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. 2. Supervise patrons at the Wilson Park Swimming Pool to ensure safety and compliance with pool operating rules. 3. Perform lifeguarding duties and act immediately and appropriately to ensure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency. 4. Supervise and instruct participants in the Wilson Pool swim lesson program in a safe and friendly manner. 5. Provide first aid as needed and properly document all injuries and care provided. 6. Attend and participate in mandatory staff meetings and in-service training sessions. 7. Complete records or reports as required such as lesson attendance or injury reports; assist as directed in the Wilson Pool office. 8. Perform various cleaning and maintenance duties as directed by the Pool Manager and Assistant Managers to maintain a clean and safe facility. 9. Maintain professional behavior consistent with the expectations of the Parks & Recreation Department and the City.
