PEMB / Self Storage Estimator

Core Functions: - Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions to produce accurate designs and estimates. - Develop and maintain detailed cut lists, bills of materials, construction details, and project drawings. - Provide sales teams with precise cost estimates and supporting documentation to fulfill customer requests. - Ensure all project deliverables meet established accuracy, quality, and timeliness standards. - Learn and apply required software systems to complete estimating tasks. - Enter designs and building scope into MBS (Metal Building Software) to develop pricing and drawings for PEMB and Self Storage building quotes. - Collaborate effectively with internal departments and external customers while upholding company values and professionalism. - Prepare and deliver project updates, progress reports, and analysis as requested Performs other duties and activities related to the department as necessary to support overall operations and responsibilities, even if not specifically listed above. Key Measures of Success: - Demonstrates initiative and customer focus by proactively responding to internal and external customer requests within established service-level expectations. - Completes drawings, take-offs, and estimates with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness to support the sales and installation of products. - Maintains quality and accuracy while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. - Prioritizes multiple projects effectively and delegates tasks appropriately to ensure timely completion of the project. - Produces clear, precise, and professional written communications and delivers concise verbal updates to stakeholders. - Identifies design or estimation discrepancies early and implements corrective actions within defined timeframes. - Collaborates effectively within a team environment while taking ownership of individual deliverables and departmental objectives. - Consistently exhibits and displays the company’s values of “Own It. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not include supervisory responsibilities. Education & Experience: Minimum Required: - 5 years’ experience estimating PEMB and/or Self Storage. - 5 years’ experience using MBS software. - Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - High school diploma or GED. Preferred: - Experience in structural design - Vocational or technical degree in construction technology, or a related field. - Knowledge of construction methods and materials, with experience in building systems or pre-engineered metal buildings. Physical Demands & Work Environment: Work is primarily performed in an office environment. This role will routinely utilize standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers, to perform the core functions listed in this job description. The work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive reading, data entry, and verbal/electronic communication. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 25 pounds. This role involves minimal exposure to noise or temperature variations.
