About This Role
The role of Sr. Analyst, Demand Planning & Commercial Intelligence integrates demand planning, commercial analytics, and process optimization to support the Simmons Animal Nutrition (SAN) Business Unit and the broader commercial organization. This role transforms data into actionable insights that drive accurate forecasting, sharpen customer strategy, and elevate executive decision-making. The Analyst partners closely with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to generate reports and design smarter workflows, leveraging AI tools and BI platforms to scale delivery of insights and operational efficiency.
Essential Position Responsibilities - This is a salary position.
Demand Planning & Forecast Optimization. Maintain and enhance the accuracy of demand forecasts for key accounts and product categories within the Animal Nutrition Business Unit. Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, and Supply Chain to align forecasts with business plans, customer commitments, and supply capabilities. Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy through data integration, root-cause analysis, and stakeholder collaboration. Translate demand inputs into actionable outputs for procurement and production scheduling, ensuring forecasts balance customer demand with production capabilities and profitability goals.
Commercial Intelligence & Sales Analytics. Build and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports that monitor sales volume trends, margin performance, customer profitability, and pipeline health. Identify opportunities and team with SAN IT and Analytics teams to accelerate analysis, automate recurring reporting, and surface patterns in sales and customer data. Work with commercial stakeholders to implement scenario modeling, predictive analytics, and KPIs aligned with commercial objectives. Synthesize syndicated data sources and internal sales data into forward-looking insights, including macroeconomic indicators, industry developments, and competitor activity, to inform strategic planning.
Strategic Commercial Support. Develop compelling, data-driven narratives and visualizations for use in executive meetings, customer presentations, and new business pitches. Support customer contract analysis, pricing strategy, and SKU performance reviews with quantitative input. Contribute to commercial pipeline development by supplying targeting, timing, and value-articulation analytics. Support project initiatives including innovation launches, customer scorecards, and market-entry evaluations.
Workflow Optimization for Customer Service & Sales. Partner with Customer Service and the Sales team to identify process gaps and design improved, scalable workflows. Lead the practical adoption of AI tools to automate routine tasks, accelerate response cycles, expedite insights, and elevate the quality of customer-facing outputs. Implement reporting that gives Customer Service, Sales, and SAN executive leadership real-time visibility into order status, service metrics, escalations, and account health. Document new workflows, train end users, and measure impact through clearly defined service and efficiency metrics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement. Facilitate alignment across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, and Finance. Operate with a continuous-improvement mindset, identifying process gaps and leading cross-functional solutions. Promote a culture of curiosity, fact-based thinking, and results-driven execution while maintaining a collaborative mindset that builds trust across functions. Contribute to team capability building by sharing analytical methods, AI use cases, and reporting best practices.
Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues, e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Move about in a manufacturing environment as needed. Move about in an office environment and surrounding property daily.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.
Travel: 10-12 trips per year
Technical Experience: Strong Excel skills; familiarity with CRM platforms, ERP systems, and AI applications.
Industry Experience: 2–5 years of experience in demand planning, sales operations, customer service, commercial analytics, or a closely related function; demonstrated proficiency with executive level reporting; experience in animal nutrition, food, agriculture, or CPG strongly preferred; working knowledge of syndicated data sources is a plus.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Analytics, Economics, Accounting or a related field or 4 years related experience.
Preferred Education: Advanced coursework or certifications in analytics or supply chain a plus.
