Job Description
McNair Middle School is seeking a part-time office aide. This position will be for 4 hours per day from 9:00am- 1pm, Monday through Friday.
Pay Range 29 (This is NOT the hourly rate)
Step 6-12 (Based on Experience)
4 hours/day
180 day contract
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To communicate with/greet all entering the office area. Maintain student attendance. Provide assistance for Administrative Assistant and Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficient skills in typing, word processing, file maintenance and computers (including all Microsoft Office Suite Products and Google Products)
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of APSCN preferred
Experience:
- Clerical experience preferred
- Experience in the preparation of spreadsheets, graphs and charts, memorandums, and presentation materials
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Greeting/Communication General Office
- Greet and assist parents, students and visitors
- Answer telephone and intercom
- Relay messages for students, teachers, staff
- Maintain school calendar
- Collect papers for special activities, PTA, fundraisers,
pictures, field trips
- Maintain teacher/staff mail boxes, sort daily mail and
distribute memos/notes to staff
- Check students in/out for parents
- Student Attendance
- Check students in/out
- Record daily attendance in APSCN, run daily reports
- Track attendance/tardy and print letters
- Quarterly Attendance Reports
- Nursing Duties – when school nurse is not available
- First Aide for sick/hurt students, contact parent
- Distribute medications
- Prepare Student Lists for Teachers/Staff/Cafeteria
- Class lists for teachers
- Special program (special education, GT, ESL, etc)
- Lunchroom lists
- Assist/Work with Parent Organization
- Provide student lists
- School information
- Scheduling of school events
