SUMMARY: The Area Manager is responsible for the overall performance of their area of the plant and the compliance with all Federal, State regulations, and company policies and procedures that ensure a wholesome, quality product and that no adulterated product enters commerce.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ensure health and safety regulations are met.

Effectively coordinate and direct all the production activities of their department.

Organize personnel and set daily tasks for front line supervisors.

Monitor production flow and schedule details to optimize efficiencies.

Achieve budgeted production yields and minimize condemn poundage.

Maintain standard manufacturing efficiencies in order to meet budget objectives.

Identify areas of opportunity and recommend improvements on staffing, financial/cost and quality within the department.

Meet product standards, while maintaining or improving product yield.

Complete appropriate paperwork on a daily basis.

Responsible for training and developing employees in all areas related to their jobs.

Help develop objectives and standards for individual production lines and monitor results for process improvements.

Observe work area as well as the plant to ensure that known hazards are reported or corrected, and that all safety reporting and accident investigations are handled in a timely manner.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required
-
Bachelor’s Degree or related field or 4 years of relevant experience in progressively responsible roles
-
3 years of supervisory experience
-
Extensive knowledge of HACCP procedures

Extensive knowledge of plant sanitation procedures
-
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred
-
Poultry or food manufacturing experience
