Role summary: As a (USA) Merchant at Walmart, you will lead category strategy development and execution, driving financial performance through customer-focused pricing, promotion, assortment, and omni merchandising strategies. What you'll do: Develop and execute category strategies aligned with long-term business objectives to drive growth and profitability. Manage pricing, promotion, and inventory decisions to optimize financial performance and meet profit and loss targets. Lead supplier negotiations, establish terms, and monitor supplier performance to ensure alignment with business goals. Oversee channel strategy and collaborate with supply chain to enhance product availability and customer experience. Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions. Manage and develop team members, setting performance expectations and fostering professional growth. Utilize data analytics to guide category planning, assortment, and merchandising initiatives. What you'll bring: Proven experience in category strategy development and execution for moderately complex categories. Strong financial management skills, including profit and loss ownership and forecasting. Expertise in supplier management, negotiation, and performance tracking. Ability to analyze competition, customer behavior, and industry trends to inform decisions. Proficiency in channel strategy and alignment with supply chain operations. Demonstrated team management capabilities, including coaching and performance evaluation. Competence in leveraging data analysis tools to drive strategic insights and decisions. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
