Job Summary: The Senior Director, Risk Decision Analytics & Transaction Fraud will lead Walmart’s strategy for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating fraud across the transaction lifecycle. This leader will build a best-in-class capability that brings together transaction monitoring, fraud analytics, risk decisioning, and performance reporting to answer three critical questions: How are we performing? What emerging fraud risks are we seeing? What actions should we take? The role will evolve the organization from primarily reactive fraud mitigation toward a more proactive, data-driven approach—using transaction data, trends, signals, rules, and decisioning outcomes to identify emerging threats earlier and continuously improve Walmart’s fraud prevention capabilities. In addition to leading risk decision analytics and transaction fraud, this leader will oversee Returns Fraud & Abuse and Post-Transaction & Contact Risk, connecting insights across these areas to strengthen Walmart’s end-to-end fraud prevention strategy. This leader will work closely with Technology, Product, Data Science, Payments, Compliance, Operations, Global Investigations, and business teams to strengthen fraud decisioning while balancing fraud loss, customer experience, and business growth. About Enterprise Fraud Strategy & Operations Enterprise Fraud Strategy & Operations protects Walmart customers and the business by proactively identifying, preventing, and responding to fraud across the customer lifecycle. The team partners across Walmart to build scalable fraud capabilities spanning identity, transaction decisioning, fraud technology, monitoring, investigations, and operations. Lead transaction fraud strategy and decisioning, establishing an enterprise approach for monitoring, identifying, and mitigating transaction fraud at scale. Build a proactive fraud analytics capability that identifies emerging patterns, trends, and threats before they create significant customer or business impact. Own fraud performance visibility, developing reporting, dashboards, metrics, and insights that clearly show how Walmart is performing and where risk is emerging. Advance risk decisioning strategies by using transaction data, fraud signals, rules, models, and decision outcomes to improve fraud detection and decision accuracy. Transform insights into action, ensuring fraud trends and root causes drive changes to decision strategies, technology capabilities, models, and business processes. Create strong feedback loops between fraud analytics, decisioning, and technology so Walmart's fraud capabilities continuously learn and improve. Lead Returns Fraud & Abuse strategy, partnering with business and operations teams to identify and mitigate fraudulent and abusive behaviors while balancing loss prevention with customer experience. Oversee Post-Transaction & Contact Risk, strengthening fraud prevention capabilities and controls across customer contact and post-transaction interactions. Connect fraud insights across the customer lifecycle, ensuring trends identified in transaction fraud, returns, and post-transaction activity create actionable feedback loops across Fraud Strategy, Technology, Product, and Operations. Drive consistency across the enterprise, bringing together fraud analytics and monitoring activities that support businesses and markets across Walmart. Partner across the fraud ecosystem, including Technology, Product, Data Science, Payments, Compliance, Operations, Global Investigations, and business leadership. Balance risk and customer experience, ensuring fraud strategies protect Walmart while minimizing unnecessary friction for good customers. Build and develop a high-performing team, attracting strong analytical and fraud talent and developing the next generation of leaders. What You'll Bring Significant leadership experience in fraud, risk decisioning, transaction monitoring, payments risk, fraud analytics, financial crime, or a related field. Deep understanding of how transaction data, fraud signals, rules, models, and analytics can be used together to identify and mitigate risk. Experience developing or transforming fraud analytics, transaction monitoring, or risk decisioning capabilities within a large, complex organization. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn large volumes of transaction data into clear insights, strategies, and actions. Demonstrated ability to move teams from reactive issue response toward proactive risk identification and prevention. Ability to work effectively with Technology, Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to translate fraud needs into scalable capabilities. Strong business judgment and understanding of the balance between fraud prevention, financial impact, customer friction, and growth. Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across multiple businesses and functions. Demonstrated success building high-performing teams and developing strong analytical and risk talent. Strong executive communication skills with the ability to simplify complex fraud issues and clearly articulate risk, performance, and recommended actions. The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
